This service takes care of most scratches, burrs, rust, or dull patches on the skis’ side edges. We start by measuring your skis’ factory side bevel. Skis generally come with a 1- to 3-degree factory side bevel, which means the skis’ side edges have an 89-, 88-, or 87-degree angle. 

The edges are cleaned, sharpened using the appropriate bevel angle, de-burred, and then cleaned again to remove any any remaining particulates.

This service does not aggressively treat the base edge, but we will use a gummy stone on the base edge during the cleaning process. It will remove some rust, but not all of it.  The same thing happens for the tip and tail section of the edge.
